Dr. Paul K. Edwards specializes in the treatment of arthritis of the hip and knee. He performs hip and
knee replacement surgery, including revisions for failed replacements. Dr. Edwards has received
numerous awards, grants and accolades and participates in research studies to further improve the
design and function of total joint replacement.
Dr. Edwards received his biology degree from the University of Arkansas, his master’s degree in
physiology from the Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging, and his medical degree from the University
of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery at the
University of South Florida in Tampa and completed a Hip and Knee Joint Replacement Fellowship at the
OrthoCarolina Hip & Knee Institute in Charlotte.
Dr. Edwards is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American
Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. He has authored and co-authored several peer-reviewed
manuscripts, presented numerous research projects at national meetings, and lectured nationally and
internationally on hip and knee replacement.
