Bowen Hefley Orthopedics is accredited by the American College of Radiology to perform musculoskeletal and spine imaging. Our Siemens 1.5T short bore magnet allows us the ability to perform both contrast and non-contrast studies, as well as metal artifact suppression scans.

Our North Little Rock MRI Center is open Monday through Friday with flexible scheduling. MRI entrance and parking is on the east side (back) of the building. As a referring provider or patient, you can have confidence that all scans are interpreted by experienced, board-certified central Arkansas radiologists. You can also expect a prompt written report, typically within 24 to 48 hours. To schedule an appointment, please call us today!

MRI is a non-invasive test. Because MRI uses high powered magnets, please notify your doctor, the MRI receptionist or the technologist prior to your appointment if you may be pregnant or have any of the following:

• Aneurysm clip(s)
• Cardiac pacemaker
• Implanted heart valve
• Implanted cardioverter defibrillator (ICD)
• Implanted pump device such as an insulin pump or pain medication pump
• Magnetically-activated implant or device
• Neurostimulation system
• Spinal cord stimulator
• Cochlear implant or implanted hearing aid
• Artificial or prosthetic limb or implant
• Any metallic fragment or foreign body
• Any external or internal metallic object such as screws or plates
• Hearing aid
• History of gunshot wound
• Permanent tattoo eyeliner
• History of metal in your eyes or were a metal worker of any kind

Any metallic substance on your body can affect image quality. Metal can also cause discomfort or possible injury during an MRI procedure. Please be aware that if you require sedation you will need to bring a driver with you to the MRI.

When you see the gold seals of accreditation prominently displayed in our imaging facility, you can be sure that you are in a facility that meets standards for imaging quality and safety. Look for the ACR Gold Seals of Accreditation. To achieve the ACR Gold Standard of Accreditation, our facility's personnel qualifications, equipment requirements, quality assurance, and quality control procedures have gone through a rigorous review process and have met specific qualifications. It’s important for patients to know that every aspect of the ACR accreditation process is overseen by board-certified, expert radiologists and medical physicists in advanced diagnostic imaging.

Why should I have my imaging exam done at an accredited facility?
• Our facility has voluntarily gone through a vigorous review process to ensure that we meet nationally-accepted standards of care.
• Our personnel are well qualified, through education and certification, to perform medical imaging.
• Our equipment is appropriate for the test or treatment you will receive, and our facility meets or exceeds quality assurance and safety guidelines.

When you see the ACR seal, you can rest assured that your prescribed imaging test will be done at a facility that has met the highest level of imaging quality and radiation safety. The facility and its personnel have gone through a comprehensive review to earn accreditation status by the American College of Radiology (ACR), the largest and oldest imaging accrediting body in the U.S. and a professional organization of 34,000 physicians.
